 Punjab Technical University
was established by
an act of State Legislature on 16 Jan 1997, to
promote Technical, Excellence in Emerging
Technologies and for promoting Training,
Research & Development in these areas.
One of
the main focuses of the University at this time
is in the area of providing training in
professional & skill oriented technologies to
the masses.
The University has undertaken the
task of training students to help in the
development of skilled manpower in this sector
in the country in general and in the state
particular. With this goal in mind, the
University is promoting a number of courses in
different stream.
PTU is the members of Association of Indian
Universities (A.I.U). It is also an
approved
University by U.G.C
all courses run by PTU
conforms to U.G.C Regulations on Nomenclature of
Degree/Diploma. All the work in the Department
of PTU is mostly governed by the norms,
guidelines and regulations of All India Council
for Technical Education (AICTE), which has been
established under Central Act. Degree & Diploma
awarded by PTU are recognized at International
Level for higher education, as it is the member
of International University Accrediting
Association (IUAA). |
